Fire Extinguishers

A fire at home is one of the most terrifying things that can happen. Yet many homes do not have even one fire extinguisher. We recommend that every home should have at least four. One for the kitchen, plus a spare for downstairs and then two upstairs, on a landing or near a master bedroom.
There are lots of fire extinguishers on the market these days. We try to keep things simple and only stock two types. A powder extinguisher and a CO2 extinguisher. As a combination of these two fire extinguishers covers all main classes of fire. Importantly every home or electrical contractors van should have a C02 extinguisher to put out electrical fires. Electrical fires occur when appliances fail or due to poor cabling or rodent damage.
The powder extinguisher can handle Class A, B and C fires:
  • Class A (solids - paper textiles)
  • Class B (Flammable Liquids)
  • Class C (Flammable Gases)

The 2kg Carbon Dioxide -CO2- Fire Extinguisher is suitable for Class B and importantly Class E (Electrical)

  • Class B (Flammable Liquids)
  • Class E (Electrical Equipment) Fires
